The Narmada Nav Nirman Abhiyan Trust is the reconstructive wing of the Narmada Bachao Andolan and is responsible for running the Jaavenshalas. Manasi Pingle is a supporter of the Andolan.
This documentary was filmed in two schedules of 8 and 10 days each (April 2008 and August 2008). We stayed in the schools along with the students and teachers. We interacted with them and gained first hand experience of their daily life and struggle. We spoke to the village leaders who were involved in setting up the schools, the village committee members responsible for managing the schools, the co-ordinators and activists who support the process, local villagers and parents of current students. We also visited the students who passed through the Jeevanshalas and are now now pursuing further studies in schools and colleges in near by towns or cities.
